Let's make this short and sweet. Another thing they didn't even have sweet tea?! If you choose to go your own way, you'll select your cut, season it, and cook it on the long, hickory-fired communal grill. Anyone 21 and under don't go. Food took more than 2 hours and management was clueless. The music is good, the food is good and the fun is all around. They were empty all night.
Where else can you have a beer, cook a steak, visit with friends and dance the night away or just listen to a great live band with a special somebody? I know this because I am fortunate to be able to play with my band here and smell the awesome smoke during our sound checks. There were kids there at a bar. We were at a birthday dinner. They were supposedly sold out of all you can eat ribs, yet my husband saw people getting served them. We get to the steak pit and the coals were barely warm and it literally took 1. When I came here I was expecting great food, great dancing, and a fun time. They ran out of a few beers, some liquors as well.
Bill was discounted slightly but experience was so bad they should have paid us. Southern Junction is also a showplace for live country music with bands Wednesday through Saturday, while guests make use of the 2,000-square-foot dance floor, shoot some pool, or ride the mechanical Bull. Stop by and enjoy one of our nightly dinner specials. She appeared at our table on average about once every 40 minutes. You'll have a great time.
But wait, it gets worse. They have a gray carpet walkway where servers walk that the bouncers tell you to get off of, but there is no room at all. I ask the waitress about our order. If you want to drink and dance then go. And by the way all the tables were supposedly reserved we seen so many not taken. I give it another 5 mins.
We've never been before and I'd read mixed reviews on here and got a little concerned. The drinks didn't do one thing for me they were watered down so I took a shot that was watered down. Our particular waitress was clearly on a serious form of illegal narcotic, considering her body language and involuntary facial movements and hand gestures. Most everyone ordered a meal but the wife and I got nachos and onion rings. The only reason I give you guys 2 stars is because of how good Laura and Greg are at teaching two step. Kids under 18 are allowed in with their parents. So we decided to go in and just starve.
The bartender that served us was excellent! Bottom line if you can't make quality food in a timely fashion, level with people-want to come drink, fine. If that doesn't bother you then it's a great place to hang out. For instance, 2-4-1 Steak Night: even though we were there fairly early, they ran out of ribeyes and we had to resort to having a filet I know, there are worse things that could happen. We had to wait 30-45min for our first steak and they were normal size but then had to wait another hour to get a bite of a steak for our second round. I can't even understand how it could pass safety, breathing or public codes. The bottles of beer weren't even close to ice cold and someone at our tables mentioned that their beer tasted skunky, as if it had been cold then allowed to be stored at room temperature, then later rechilled. There was only reserved seating, so we had to stand all night.
Our waitress was super friendly. If you don't care about friendless, good drinks sitting at a table or so so food yeah then you should go. One last word of advice - if you're meeting friends or someone inside, make sure you have a means of contacting them otherwise you'll be walking around a long time trying to find them in the dimly lit expanse of their building. The only reason I give one star is because of the ranch dressing which is still as awesome as it has always been. Stop by and enjoy one of our nightly dinner specials.
Live Band was boring the second half. We will for sure be back and I'm so glad I didn't allow the bad reviews stop me from going and eating dinner there!! But we get there and the lady cashier was super dooper rude I mean we weren't even talking to her and we were talking about eating and she said Oh no all the tables are reserved so you can't eat! Then everything will taste just fine. I get that it was buy one get one steak, but you probably shouldn't offer it if you can't keep the quality up. They treat you like a criminal. We couldn't wait for it to be 10. We went to see Ronnie Milsap. It was hilarious to see the second steak.
